Otrium is a purpose-led business – we see a future where all clothing is worn.

Every year, billions of items are produced globally but are never sold. Clothing goes unworn and often ends up in landfills. This is a huge waste of creative energy, labor, natural resources and investment. Otrium is changing fashion from the inside out: we are an online fashion outlet marketplace and we tech-enable designer brands to find an owner for every item they produce.

Our global business

Founded in Amsterdam and headquartered in the cloud, Otrium also has hubs in New York and London. As a digital-first company, we work around the globe and don’t need to limit our HQ to one location or a single hub. We want to ensure our O-team can work in a way that best fits their needs, whether that’s remote-first, hub-first, or hybrid (50/50).

Your impact

As Merchandise Manager at Otrium you will be fully responsible for optimizing and assessing Otrium’s supply stream, with the end-goal to improve our assortment relevance and sell-through performance. You will support a wide variety of stakeholders to make smart assortment decisions, assess stock selections and drive assortment proposals for our A/B tested fashion (made for outlet).

You will be part of a fast-growing company and team where you will participate in driving our growth by enabling the right assortment strategies for our b2b and b2c teams, based on your merchandising experience and by enabling strong data-driven insight.

Your responsibilities

The following responsibilities are part of this role:

  • Deep-dive into inventory performance and create insightful analysis to improve stock movement / and improve on key KPIs as sell-through and return rates
  • Work together with internal stakeholders to ensure the right merchandise insights are available to allow all departments to make data-driven decisions
  • Assess incoming stock offerings to match demand on our platform and ensure commercial offerings
  • Create assortment recommendations for key partners that supplement their excess inventory with made-for-outlet collections (a/b tested fashion)
  • Work on relevant merchandise insights as seasonal flow, category performance, brand segment insights to spot growth opportunities 
  • Proactively initiate new projects and processes to improve supply vs. demand insights based on your merchandise experience 
  • Create actionable insights on inventory, sales and customer data to contribute to the development of new sales initiatives 

About you

  • Relevant Bachelor or Master studies (i.e. Business Analytics, Merchandising)
  • 4 years of experience
  • Experience in merchandising and/or buying roles at online retailers, marketplace or outlets 
  • Experience in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong analytical skills: you identify connections in data and trends and can translate insights to meaningful actions
  • Strong commercial experience: able to assess stock list of a variety of brands to ensure good quality stock on our platform
  • You are able to translate performance reporting into assortment proposals as bestseller replenishments or MFO proposals 
  • You are innovative, creative and have a strong commercial sense;
  • You work well with deadlines and are able to set priorities while working with a large variety of stakeholders
  • You have a solutions-oriented approach and entrepreneurial mindset.
