Due to continuing growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Medical Strategist to join our team in Nucleus X Consulting.

The Senior Medical Strategist will provide strategic consultancy to our pharmaceutical and biotech clients. You will have a thorough understanding of the holistic challenges associated with launching a drug and will drive the scientific strategy and integrity of medical communications and education activities for early-phase products. In this role, you will provide strategic recommendations to clients, offering consultancy on overarching medical objectives and scenario planning, as well as coordinating alignment and implementation of the medical communications mix for single products or portfolios. In addition, you will provide consultancy to internal account teams and support across the Nucleus agencies on strategic aspects of medical communications and education, engaging with client services and editorial teams to leverage organic and new business growth opportunities.

With a primary focus on rare diseases and/or oncology, you will develop strong consultancy relationships with senior clients. As the Senior Medical Strategist, you will lead the delivery of highly strategic initiatives and support clients with scenario planning, identifying potential hurdles and developing mitigation strategies. You will be responsible for the conception and direction of strategic documents and other deliverables with high scientific and strategic content (e.g. integrated evidence planning, strategic communications and cross-functional planning workshops).

To succeed you will have a BSc in life sciences, ideally combined with an MSc or a PhD, coupled with extensive medical communications and education agency experience. You will have demonstrable experience of providing independent strategic counsel to clients, developing and implementing medical communication and education plans. Alternatively, you will have extensive experience within a pharmaceutical environment with medical affairs/commercial expertise. This role is ideally suited to someone who has experience of working in a hybrid position, with both client services and editorial responsibilities. A clear understanding and experience of the drug delivery process and product lifecycle, coupled with an understanding of pharmaceutical client roles and challenges, are essential to this role. You will have established product, scientific and therapeutic experience (expertise in the field of rare diseases is desirable), with proven experience of assessing and placing scientific and clinical data in therapeutic and market context to conceptualise and deliver strategic plans globally. You will have excellent written and verbal communication, influencing and networking skills, with demonstrable experience of providing strategic counsel to clients and healthcare professionals.
