We are seeking a talented Restaurant Manager to support a dynamic restaurant program—with multiple, distinct restaurant concepts from all-day dining to modern casual to fine dining and bar service. The Mather offers a from-scratch kitchen, and a food and beverage team that provides a Nextraordinary restaurant experience for residents and guests. This position is full-time, weekend, and holiday availability required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborates with Director of Food and Beverage in the timely hiring, orientation, scheduling and on-going training and performance management of restaurant team members.
- Manages all related systems within the restaurants.
- Supervises the flow of service to ensure that residents, guests, family members, and staff receive quality dining service.
- Inspects workstations for completion of assigned side work.
- Responds to resident feedback addressing concerns in a timely, professional manner.
- Maintains timely and professional communication with the Director of Food and Beverages and the Executive Chef and shares all food comments and suggestions with the Executive Chef.
- Works with restaurant management to help ensure budgetary compliance.
- Responsible to manage and maintain the equipment necessary to successfully operate the restaurants at or above Mather service standards.
- Coordinates and executes theme meals and/or functions and related billing processes and provides accurate and timely information
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Progressive experience in an upscale restaurant and/or Life Plan community
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and make independent decisions
- Proficient in Windows applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Knowledgeable in Point-of-Sale systems
- Knowledgeable in job related federal, state, and local regulations to ensure safe and clean dining environment
- Certification in food safety/sanitation and BASSET
- English language proficiency
