What will your day look like

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our team and shape the overall strategy for Marketing Operations at VML MAP. In this dynamic and diverse environment, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, optimizing processes, and engaging with stakeholders both internally and externally.

The Operations Director is responsible for driving operational excellence and optimizing processes across the department. This role is one that requires a large amount of stakeholder liaising both internally and externally. As Operations Director, you will take part in several strategic decisions and product conceptualizations. 

More specifically, your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing daily operations and client services. 
  • Managing a global team of Operations Managers. 
  • Collaborate with senior management to align operational plans with overall business objectives.
  • Identify areas for improvement in operational processes and workflows. 
  • Implement best practices and standardized procedures to optimize efficiency.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, including client services, tech leads, and senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration among different departments and teams across VML, MAP, Marketing Operations and Technology and Development.
  • Monitoring clients' scope, relationships, and growth opportunities for optimization.
  • Monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with SLA's.
  • Building and managing a high-performing team and ensuring capacity management.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.
  • Participating in the recruiting and selection process. 
  • Setting a vision for the team and driving continuous improvements
  • Collaborating with the finance teams to develop and manage the operations' budget as well as P&L reports.
  • Reviewing and optimizing processes to enhance the overall setup.

Our offices are based in Copenhagen, Lisbon, Toronto, Bangkok and San Jose as our operations span across multiple time zones. Flexibility and a can-do attitude are essential. This role requires frequent travel. 

What do you bring to the table

You must be detail-oriented, adept at identifying new opportunities and skilled in building company culture. You are excited about empowering and enabling a growing organization. 

In addition, you have:

  • 4-6 years of proven experience in operations management, preferably within the marketing automation, IT or similar field.
  • Exceptional ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Solid experience in digital marketing, digital production or commercialization of services. 
  • Strong understanding of marketing operations including campaign management, project management and digital marketing processes. 
  • Expertise in process optimization.
  • Strong commercial understanding and project leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Bonus: Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe, Braze). 
  • Experience working in a multiculturally diverse organization is an asset.
