At LearnUpon, we’re seeking a Part-time Commercial Contracts Solicitor to join our team in Ireland, 3 days per week.

Working with our Contracts Manager, you will join our high energy Legal Department who supports everything legal across the business.  You will have a crucial role of assisting with the managing of day-to-day tasks including review of SAAS revenue, Partnership and non-revenue contracts for the company. This role will partner with other departments on special projects, to scale the legal and corporate governance function of the business. This role is part-time three days per week and will be ideal for someone that wants flexibility to their work week.

What will I be doing?

  • Reviewing and managing of contracts and other requests through the Legal Ticket System
  • Provide cross-functional support to internal stakeholders and provide guidance on common legal issues
  • Review, manage and update a Legal Team Playbook to support negotiations with Customers, Prospects and Vendors
  • Attend negotiation calls in support of the company to finalise  sales SaaS contracts with urgency
  • Assist with the maintenance of Legal Department templates in accordance with current trends, legislative changes and service offerings
  • Suggest changes to improve internal processes
  • Provide support on legal projects such as patent filing activities, and new revenue streams/partnership opportunities
  • Provide ad hoc support as needed on legal requests including to the leadership team

What skills do I need?                                                                               

  • Professionally qualified solicitor with practising certificate in Ireland (or eligible to obtain)
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a legal team
  • Meticulous attention to detail especially when reviewing documentation
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Proven experience developing and implementing processes
  • Ability to think critically about a situation and present options to move forward
  • Ability to manage and prioritise deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proven experience delivering on initiatives and presenting findings to stakeholders
  • Ability to proactively upskill in areas of new laws and regulation
  • Friendly and supportive to both our customers and colleagues whilst maintaining a fun working atmosphere!

Not required but considered a plus

  • An understanding of SaaS (Software as a Service) and software licensing
  • Experience working with a CMS (Contract Management System) 
  • Intellectual Property Experience such as Trademarks and Open-Source software

We’re looking for…

  • Someone who would like to work on a part-time basis with a possible shift to full time employment as the company scales in the future, and provide occasional additional support to the Contracts Manager as needed
