Karbon is looking for an experienced Chief of Staff to join the Karbon team and play a significant role in driving our next phase of growth.

You will possess strong project management, communication, and leadership skills as well as an excellent ability to communicate at the executive level. The ideal candidate must also have the high emotional intelligence and inclusive style needed to influence people across a diverse and growing organization. The Chief of Staff will also have a record of working operationally without creating unnecessary red tape, and executing tasks that may have a high degree of ambiguity.

Tasks could be as varied as working with the CEO to drive cross-functional internal initiatives or supporting the implementation of external partnerships, to preparation ahead of big presentations or meetings, and assisting with travel and other appointment logistics.

The ideal candidate sees this position as an executive bootcamp of sorts, and is eager to work with (and learn from) executives both in and outside of Karbon.

About You

Ideally, you are located and able to work in Reno, NV, Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA, or San Francisco CA — for the right person, location doesn't matter as long as you're prepared to work remotely.

This role will fit someone who:

  • Understands strategic business initiatives and help communicate and implement them across the organization.
  • Understands and internalizes Karbon’s long term vision, and transform that long term vision into tactical execution
  • Drives alignment across the organization by owning the OKR process and ensuring prioritization is effective and managed according to the company Objectives
  • Manages Key Results with the business leaders so that they are measurable, suitable and contribute directly to the Objectives.
  • Helps the leadership team attract exceptional talent and assist with the development of each individual and team for the betterment of the overall organization
  • Works with the CEO to take the existing components of a business operating system and develop and refine into a comprehensive Business Operating System, with the context of Karbon’s values and work hard to proliferate that throughout the organization.
  • Develops a communications system inline with the BOS and ensure asynchronous communications within the organization are reduced and synchronous communications are transitioned to a single operating platform.
  • Assists with investor relations and board meeting coordination.
  • Collaborates with the CEO’s executive assistant to ensure efficient scheduling and preparation for upcoming meetings or events
  • Assists with the organization of executive team meetings and agenda and action item management.
  • Collaborates with PR and Communications teams to prepare for internal and external appearances
  • Works across teams to facilitate various special projects
  • Anticipates and proactively manage tasks for the CEO

  • A confident, resourceful self starter who can anticipate the needs of a busy CEO
