The successful candidate for this the Technical Training Specialist will have the ability to; directly impact change, leverage their passion for relational database management systems all while working with a broad customer group.  Our newest team member should have strong customer service and presentation skills/experience combined with some technical knowledge (software/troubleshooting). You will have the unique ability to directly impact the Success of customers and their User Adoption of the Intelex System through the compelling delivery of Platform and out-of-the-box and tailored Application training to users with varying technical abilities. 

The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for working with both the Intelex and Client Project teams to plan and deliver Intelex Platform and Application Training onsite or online while leveraging our Intelex and Adult learning best practices.  The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for developing and facilitating technical software training.  You will have the opportunity to learn about the highest ranking EHSQ software and work in a fast-paced environment with the chance to grow and develop your career. 

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Works with the Intelex Project Team to identify the Technical Configuration of applications purchased by customers through the review and understanding of the Application Design Documentation, User Stories and Configuration Workbooks
  • Works with Intelex Customers to best understand their level of understanding of the Intelex Application prior to delivering training, thus determining the appropriate channels for training delivery
  • Delivers tailored training documentation on Intelex/Customer Application Specific training and standard Platform out of the box training as well as prepares customer test sites for delivery
  • Develops training material based on best-practice use of Intelex functionality and administration of application modules using Out of the Box training documentation
  • Responsible for researching, developing, preparing and facilitating onsite and online training
  • Analyzes and interprets user requirements, technical specifications and application features and functions and translate into appropriate training formats
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and continually seeks opportunities to update product knowledge capabilities
  • Applies instructional development, and adult learning principles to develop training material and facilitation
  • Creates and maintains courseware material and maintains an updated inventory of training material in SharePoint
  • Travel?! (30% - 40%)

Customer Service

  • Experience in a customer facing role which required timely problem solving
  • Experience building internal and external relationships and mitigating past difficult personalities or situations
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently deal with multiple projects, conflicting timelines and changing priorities


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate in front of groups of various sizes
  • A solid understanding of adult learning principles, potential roadblocks to learning, instructional development and associated solutions
  • Skilled facilitator with web conferencing applications like WebEx, or GoToMeeting

Technical Competencies

  • Agility to learn and apply new business/technical concepts effectively and efficiently
  • Demonstrated software/technology passion and aptitude is considered an asset
  • Experience in learning Software applications and developing customized training both onsite and online


  • Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience delivering training material to individuals and groups
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role
  • Software Training or Technical Support experience is considered an asset


  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Education, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent Experience
