Hotel Engine is excited to add a Lead Software Engineer - React to our growing team! Our ideal candidate loves front-end development, is very skilled with JS and CSS, and has the ability to make long-term architectural decisions and identify refactoring needs within that space. If you're eager to be the go-to Hotel Engineer for their areas of expertise & excited about sharing your knowledge & findings, this role is for you!
 
Here's how we work:
  • We ship code daily to our CI, staging, and production environments. Build, deploy, and monitoring alerts are posted to Slack
  • We work closely with our product, design, and analytics teams to make sure we’re building the right products and they are performing well
  • We are good teammates who follow our working agreement. We’re looking for hard workers who don’t let their ego get in the way
  • We ship code daily to our production, staging, and continuous integration environments 
Here's what we're looking for:
  • 2+ years managing software developers
  • 5+ years front-end web development
  • 2+ years production experience with React
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript testing strategies
  • A passion for giving users a polished, highly usable experience
  • Experience with high volume, publicly-facing production site
  • Interest in understanding the why behind what you’re doing, and effectively conveying that to your team
Extra points if you have:
  • An eye for good UI/UX. You will be working with a dedicated designer, so you do not need a design background, but if that’s within your skillset then all the better
  • Experience with native mobile development is a big plus
  • Production experience with Heroku and Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with React Native
  • Experience with Angular

Cash compensation:

  • The base salary range for this role starts at $140,000-$160,000/year. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise & may vary from the amount above.
