About the Role:
At Motive, we are driven by insights. The marketing analytics team is responsible for providing the data, measurement framework, and self-serve tools to enable the marketing team to deliver business impact. You will partner cross functionally with our data platform, data science, marketing operations, paid media, organic growth, and web teams to deliver insights that drive action. In this role, you will analyze data to shape marketing strategy, uncover opportunities for business growth, and communicate recommendations at all levels of the organization. You will attack complex, interesting, and impactful questions and eventually become the subject matter expert.
As the Director of Marketing Analytics, you will also lead us in hiring and developing existing talent in the marketing analytics arena. You will also own the development and delivery of our overall analytics roadmap. The scope of this team includes the development of self-serve tools, advanced analysis, marketing data science [including MTA, MMM], and forecasting and planning for the marketing organization.
This role is remote and based in the US.

What You'll Do:
- You will lead and grow a team of marketing analysts who will support and provide insights and direction to key marketing partners
- You will support marketing in defining key metrics to track the performance of marketing programs, including metrics like CAC, LTV, ROAS, marketing-influenced pipeline, etc.
- Deeply understand our business and our marketing opportunities and turn them into quantitative problems we can solve.
- Use all of our data including Marketo, Salesforce, web analytics data, product data, third-party data, media data, etc.
- Partner closely with our data science, sales operations, and business intelligence team to deliver aligned data products and definitions
- Create data products that address the needs of media buyers, business stakeholders, our finance partners
- Don’t just run the numbers; interpret what they mean and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences to influence how we operate.
- Translate insights into meaningful business recommendations. Support marketing initiatives like performance reporting, scoring, nurturing, triggering, gating, and experimentation.
- Lead analytics projects across the organization and mentor analysts
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of experience with advanced analytics, both as an individual contributor and as a manager
- 4+ years of experience with marketing measurement and analytics
- 4+ years as a manager of talent, with a proven ability to mentor, attract and retain analytics talent
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or similar field, focused experience or education in areas like analytics, consulting, data science, and statistics.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to create, work and summarize large data sets into clear insights that inform decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel
- Experience in using data visualization tools (for example, Tableau etc.)
- Experience with marketing data including attribution models, MMM, forecast, funnel, pipeline, retention, cross sell, and upsell analytics
- Strong communication and presentation skills, demonstrated experience briefing senior leaders on outcomes & recommendations, and an interest in teaching others
