We're looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Software Engineer to join our small team of very talented engineers in our Redwood City office.  . We have a lot of really great features in the pipeline and we need some help getting it all done!.

The Job…

  • Team with Product Designers to implement their designs for web feature additions/improvements and integrate with the rest of the stack.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to come up with and implement rigorous growth testing on existing features to optimize product on the stack or experimentation platforms like Optimizely.
  • Work closely with Product Marketing in identifying, capitalizing on, and iterating on GoFundMe product and services business growth opportunities.
  • Initiate and complete front-end stack development with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React.  
  • Create single-page apps and/or standalone modules within existing frameworks.
  • Work in assigned teams with other developers, QA engineers.
  • Develop and maintain code documentation
  • Participate in developers code reviews
  • Refactor legacy code


  • 3+ years of front-end and/or full-stack software development experience 
  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related disciplines
  • Strong practical, hands-on knowledge of OOP practices, JavaScript, CSS, HTML.   Python and/or PHP experience a major plus.
  • Expertise of React, or at least one other JavaScript framework like Angular, Backbone, etc.
  • Experience with TDD workflow and unit testing
  • Experience with ORM and raw SQL queries using MySQL
  • Knowledge of Responsive development using HTML, CSS, SCSS
  • Experience building front-end applications
  • Strong abilities to identify and troubleshoot bugs
  • Ping pong skills and a sense of humor
