Givens Estates, a nonprofit life plan community in Asheville NC and Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain, work to help our independent living residents that want to age with choices and remain in their home, where they’re most comfortable. As our Home Care Supervisor, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know our clients one-on-one, helping them live a healthy, happy and safe life at home.
As the Home Care Team Supervisor for Givens Home First, you'll play a crucial role in coordinating the daily operations of our field team, supporting the delivery of high-quality in-home care. This role is ideal for an experienced RN who leads with a hands-on, "player-coach" approach, actively participating in day-to-day tasks while mentoring caregivers to succeed. You'll work closely with leadership on scheduling, regulatory compliance, and care planning to ensure both efficient service delivery and exceptional client satisfaction. With your expertise in quality improvement and caregiver support, you’ll help build a cohesive team that meets the needs of our clients and their families. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering a collaborative, adaptable, and client-centered care environment.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee and support our field caregivers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback with a "player-coach" leadership style, actively participating in tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership on caregiver scheduling to ensure efficient, timely service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations, completing required supervisory visits and overseeing quality of care.
- Participate in the development and reassessment of care plans, quality assurance, and improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators, identifying and implementing performance improvement measures.
- Serve as the on-call contact for caregivers and clients during evenings, nights, and weekends on a rotating basis.
- Provide field support to caregivers through site visits across our two Life Plan Communities, Givens Estates and Givens Highland Farms.
- Offer ongoing training, feedback, and coaching to enhance caregiver skills and support professional development.
- In partnership with Human Resources, participate in the recruitment and oversee new hire onboarding for caregivers, working hand-in-hand with your leadership team.
- Maintain accurate documentation and troubleshoot system issues as necessary.
- Serve as a central communication point, effectively relaying updates, expectations, and feedback among team members, clients, and families.
- Plan and implement annual skills fair and other training events, in coordination with your Home Care Operations Director and wider leadership team.
- Foster an open-door environment that encourages team questions and support.
What You'll Need:
- Current RN license in North Carolina with 3-5+ years of experience in home care, home health, or a related field, including leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and caregiver management.
- Familiarity with home care software such as WellSky or Home Care Home Base.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for countywide travel (mileage reimbursement available).
- Flexibility to work early mornings (7 a.m. start), nights, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Demonstrated communication skills, with proficiency in written, verbal, and digital communication.
- Physical ability to handle movement requirements, including lifting up to 100 pounds and adapting to various client needs.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations, providing quick and effective solutions to operational and client challenges.
Compensation is $75,000 - $86,000 based on experience, along with our comprehensive benefits package.
