Forbes is seeking a Director of Product Development, Delivery & Deployment who will support complex product development and management for by managing a team of Product Owners responsible for the timely and quality delivery of projects and features with full transparency of dependencies, risks and priorities. This team will lead Agile ceremonies, own backlogs, lead the delivery teams, manage timelines, uncover and unblock any issues and work at a strategic level with Product Managers and stakeholders to have a detailed understanding of ongoing requirements, define the roadmap for any given product and collaborate with engineers and designers and communication about timeframes and outcomes. This role reports to the VP of Product and will also identify and institute best practices and facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring the right structure is in place as well as the tools and processes to set the teams up for success. You will collaborate with key stakeholders and across product teams to define and implement best practices for product development that supports rapid experimentation and delivering business value.


  • Provide direction and oversight for the timely delivery of products across a broad, varied product portfolio and be a driving force for the deployment of quality product solutions
  • Lead, motivate and support a team of product owners responsible for working closely with product managers to define the roadmaps for given products or features and translate them into user stories for development
  • Define and implement best practices that will guide product owners in managing delivery teams collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective prioritization and dynamic planning processes
  • Mentor team on being effective, positive player-coaches who are able to get the best out of delivery teams while maintaining trust and morale
  • Collaborate with engineering managers and the UX/product design team to establish repeatable, scalable, and adaptable processes
  • Attention to ensuring that any performance gaps are addressed and closely monitored
  • Be a strong leader and compassionate, positive team member, partnering with cross-functional teams across the company to get things done
  • Ensure consistent communication to the VP of Product, Chief Product Officer and broader Product team to foster an understanding of best practices and to effect efficiency, performance, and productive collaboration across the team


Our ideal candidate:

  • 5+ years experience managing delivery of large-scale software/web-based products in an Agile environment
  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience 
  • Process-oriented, with an ability to drive continual optimization and improvement
  • Positive approach to mentoring and coaching
  • Passionate about people, organization and driving efficiency
  • Shines when working with cross-functional teams and bringing stakeholders together to promote alignment, with a bias toward getting things done
  • Track-record of operating at a strategic level, while also being able to quickly drill down into the particulars of technology and user/customer needs
  • Positive, strategic approach to problem solving and to building relationships within the team and across the company
  • Adaptable, flexible with ability to navigate ambiguity and thrives in an intrapreneurial environment
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with engineering and design teams
