Overview:

As a Public Relations (PR) Executive, you will play a vital role in supporting the PR team's efforts to enhance the public image and reputation of our organization. This entry-level position is ideal for someone passionate about communications, media relations, and brand management. You will assist in implementing PR strategies, handling media inquiries, drafting press releases, and monitoring media coverage. This role offers valuable experience and growth opportunities within the dynamic field of public relations and reports into the Head of Communications – Construction.

Responsibilities:

Media Relations:

  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with journalists, bloggers and influencers.
  • Monitor media outlets for coverage related to our industry and competitors.
  • Help organize and manage press events, conferences and briefings.

Content Creation:

  • Draft press releases, media pitches and other PR materials under supervision.
  • Contribute to content creation for newsletters, blog posts and social media.

PR Campaign Support:

  • Assist in executing PR campaigns to promote events, new launches or announcements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather information and assets for PR activities.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyse media coverage and PR metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports summarizing PR activities and outcomes.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain media contact lists and databases.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing files.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years experience in copywriting is required.
  • Experience in events/exhibitions will be a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Understanding of media relations and PR strategies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with PR tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for staying updated on industry trends and media developments.
