About This Role
We are looking for a dynamic Senior Accountant to support the Finance organization as we continue to grow.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of public accounting experience, great interpersonal skills, strong business acumen, and is excited to make a meaningful impact on a rapidly growing startup.
Your colleagues on the finance team are comprised of banking and startup alumni, and this role will have constant interaction with multiple departments. Your day-to-day activities will vary but you can count on learning about the month-end close process, technical GAAP accounting, financial reporting, and audit preparation. A strong independent worker that can navigate working on multiple projects will surely succeed in this role.
We have a documented equal pay policy, and do not negotiate on offers. To maintain fairness and keep starting total comp the same for anyone who comes into that position, individual pay is determined by role, level and work location only. At offer stage, we give candidates 3 different offers to choose from depending on how they want to favor cash vs equity. The US-based salary range for this position is $94,450 to $122,000 + equity + benefits. Please note: We have two different compensation tiers depending on your location. The range displayed reflects the Tier 2 minimum and Tier 1 maximum new hire salary across all US locations. Your Recruiter will discuss the relevant compensation range during your initial screen.
Responsibilities:
- Take a lead role in month-end and quarter-end close processes through completion of recurring tasks and journal entries, reconciliations, and other duties as necessary
- Prepare debt related entries and work with Capital Markets team to understand and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis
- Generate financial statements for multiple organizations
- Participate in special projects and execute other duties as appropriate, e.g. data collection, compilation, reporting and process automation, etc.
- Responsible for Tax filings and reporting
- Assist with audits
- Drive efficiencies in the financial close process and seek out process improvements
- Help improve business processes and automation through partnering with IT to help the business scale for future growth
- Assist with development of accounting policies and operations for new accounting initiatives and business processes
- Partner with Finance, Operations and Business Development teams to understand business models, and provide accounting support
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance or similar; with public accounting background and CPA preferred
- 2+ years of public accounting experience
- Experience in NetSuite, QBO, Bill.com, Brex, and Expensify is a plus!
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and how to apply them in practice
- Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, to include Intermediate MS Excel skills (Index, VLooksUps, Pivot Tables, etc.)
- Able to prioritize and juggle overlapping deadlines
- Possess strong communication skills - written and verbal
- Ability to work cross functionally with various departments
- Self-starter and collaborative personality would be a huge plus!
