DeVries is looking for a freelance earned media specialist to support our consumer team at approximately 32 hours a week beginning in April.
What you'll do:
Represent the agency and clients with journalists to illicit positive, productive and purposeful coverage
Prepare timely team and client updates on all stages of project processes
Develop media strategies recommendations
Secure top-tier national media coverage – all formats, e.g. broadcast, print, radio, social (IG) and types business, lifestyle, consumer, etc.
Leverage strong relationships with top-tier media and high-profile press influencers to secure press
What you'll have:
3-5 years as part of an integrated marketing services team and in a client-facing/agency service capacity; experience in relevant communications fields
A passion for culture and the expertise in crafting communications strategy into relevant, timely and engaging story narratives, creative ideas and news-worthy pitches (i.e. ability to create a story with no celebrity talent or product/service innovation)
Journalistic instincts and skills in uncovering and developing stories
Hold trusted, personal relationships with influential media owners and journalists
Excels in hypercompetitive, fast-moving dynamic categories and environments
Winning reputation for superb client service and counsel
Passionate student of online media best practices and trends
Excellent project management skills; meets and exceeds deadlines and deliverables
