Culture Amp is looking to hire a visionary and strategic Web Strategy and Development Director to lead the evolution of our web presence and drive measurable impact across the organization. This role will shape the long-term vision for our website, ensuring it is a critical asset that supports our business objectives and enhances user engagement through innovative digital experiences. This position can be performed from our San Francisco or Chicago hubs. 

Role Purpose

The Web Strategy and Development Director will define and lead the strategic direction, innovation, and development of Culture Amp’s global website. This role requires a high-caliber leader with digital transformation, web technology, and growth strategy expertise. The Director will steer a team of engineers, digital professionals, and external partners to create a best-in-class web presence that accelerates the company’s growth, aligns with business goals, and delivers a seamless user experience across all touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

Website Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop a forward-looking website strategy that integrates with Culture Amp's overarching business goals and marketing vision.
  • Drive website innovation, ensuring it serves as a strategic tool for lead generation, customer acquisition, and brand elevation.
  • Lead the evolution of the website by incorporating cutting-edge technologies, optimizing user engagement, and ensuring scalability for future growth.
  • Establish and communicate a strategic web roadmap to senior leadership, outlining key priorities, goals, and milestones.

Team Collaboration:

  • Partner with the marketing leadership team to ensure website initiatives are closely aligned with marketing campaigns, lead generation goals, and regional marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and sales teams to ensure the website effectively supports demand generation strategies, customer acquisition, and market expansion.
  • Serve as the senior leader responsible for web strategy across the organization, influencing marketing, product, IT, and operations to drive cross-functional initiatives that enhance the customer journey.

 

Performance Optimization & Digital Growth:

  • Lead the website's overall performance strategy, ensuring alignment with key metrics such as revenue growth, user engagement, conversion rates, and customer retention.
  • Spearhead data-driven initiatives for SEO, SEM, CRO, and user experience optimization using cutting-edge analytics tools.
  • Oversee the creation of dashboards and reporting mechanisms to regularly present performance insights to the VP of Demand Generation and the wider marketing team, ensuring continuous alignment with marketing objectives.
  • Stay at the forefront of digital trends and competitive benchmarking to ensure Culture Amp’s web presence is industry-leading and supports demand generation efforts.

Team Development & Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing multidisciplinary team, including web engineers, UX/UI designers, SEO/optimization and content specialists.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team to keep up with rapid technological advancements.
  • Define strategic goals and KPIs for the team and ensure alignment with both company-wide business goals and specific marketing-driven demand generation targets.
  • Champion professional development, supporting the growth and career progression of team members.

Digital Content & User Experience:

  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop content strategies that position Culture Amp as a thought leader, ensuring all web content is high-quality, SEO-optimized, and aligned with demand generation efforts.
  • Oversee user experience (UX) initiatives to ensure the website delivers a superior, accessible, and intuitive experience for all target audiences.
  • Direct ongoing site usability testing, customer feedback loops, and accessibility audits to continually refine the user experience in alignment with demand generation goals.

Technology & Vendor Management:

  • Oversee the selection and implementation of development tools and third-party solutions to support the website’s growth, scalability, and alignment with marketing technology stacks.
  • Build strategic relationships with external agencies, vendors, and contractors to augment internal capabilities and drive specialized projects.
  • Ensure seamless website integration with marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and other technologies that support demand generation and sales operations.

Project & Budget Oversight:

  • Lead the execution of complex, high-impact website initiatives from strategy to delivery, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage the website’s development budget and make strategic investment recommendations to support demand generation growth.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with website development, ensuring project delivery, platform security, and alignment with broader marketing goals.

Experience and Qualifications

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience leading web strategy and development in a high-growth, B2B SaaS environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • A proven track record of driving large-scale web transformation initiatives that align with business growth, marketing, and demand generation goals.
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-performing digital teams and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Skills:

  • Visionary leadership with the ability to develop and execute long-term web strategies that drive significant business and demand generation outcomes.
  • Strong experience in cross-functional leadership, working with marketing, demand generation, and product teams to influence strategic decisions at the organizational level.
  • Expertise in digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, and conversion rate optimization, to drive lead generation and customer engagement.
  • Superior communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights and influence key decisions across marketing and business leadership teams.
  • Strong technical acumen, including deep knowledge of web development technologies, CMS platforms, and integration with marketing and sales tech stacks.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of modern web technologies, platforms, and frameworks, including headless CMS, cloud infrastructure, and web performance tools.
  • Proficiency in leading analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, and marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo) to drive data-informed decision-making.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is listed below. The range is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual skills, capabilities and experience, objectively assessed during the interview process. 

In addition to base salary, your compensation package will include additional components such as equity and benefits. For sales roles, your package may also include sales commission. $200,000$235,000 USD
