The Job
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented AP Manager to help lead our accounting team with the Sr. Manager, Accounting. You will be responsible for building the team and implementing best-in-class processes that can scale with the company. The ideal candidate has a strong combination of strategic thinking and technical skill, with the ability to roll up their sleeves in a high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Support Accounting in all aspects of our accounting and reporting process
- Oversee the Company's accounts payable process, including review of staff work
- Be a leader who is driven to build high performing teams, contributing to a positive and empathetic culture that values members, providing support and mentorship along the way
- Be comfortable communicating results and addressing issues as they arise to management
- Help to establish and maintain strong accounting policies and effective internal controls
- Manage direct reports and develop the AP team. Attract, develop, and retain competent and committed staff. Establish clear performance objectives and provide career guidance for each direct report. Motivate and reinforce teamwork. Mentor staff and provide technical leadership.
- Collaborate with leadership across the company to provide timely reporting to assist in strategic initiatives and key decision processes
- Develop and scale the finance operations through cross functional leadership using automation, analytics and other technologies
- Work with the external auditors and advisors on audit, accounting and other matters
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA required
- 5+ years in progressive accounting leadership experience in fast-paced, high-growth start-up and complex companies
- Prior experience in public accounting, preferably at the Big 4
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong leadership abilities and a great communicator who can partner with other functional leaders to solve complex business problems and work on strategic initiatives
- Demonstrated history of solving multiple complex operational and accounting challenges
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Passionate, optimistic, curious leader that is relentless about continuous improvement and customer service
- Ability to manage projects timelines and financials
- Analytical, data-driven, and people-oriented leader
- Ability to delegate effectively
