We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Quality Assurance Analyst III in the Technology Services Department. We are recruiting for one position and it can be filled in any of our three Alliance offices in California: Merced, Salinas or Scotts Valley.


Reporting to the Information Technology Director, you will:

  • Oversee, coordinate, create and execute end-to-end test plans and test cases from functional requirements
  • Lead and perform quality assurance activities for applications and databases in collaboration with other Information Technology Services (ITS) Division staff
  • Provide subject matter expertise and assists with providing mentoring and training



  • Certification in Software Testing or Quality Assurance
  • Working knowledge of UML/use cases
  • Some knowledge of Medi-Cal

  • Knowledge of:
    • Software quality assurance processes and procedures
    • Database testing in a Microsoft SQL Server Environment, including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procedures, jobs, triggers, and replication
    • Functional test automation tools
    • SDLC and ADLC
    • SQL, Toad, and Test Management software
    • Frontend GUI testing for multiple environments
    • Security issues and security testing
  • Ability to:
    • Provide expertise in a variety of software QA concepts, practices, and procedures
    • Create clear, concise, detail oriented test plans and cases from specifications or verbal instructions
    • Define and troubleshoot issues, analyze and interpret data, evaluate options, and make recommendations for action
    • Lead project work teams and coach and mentor project team members
    • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, organize work, maintain accurate records, and achieve goals and timelines
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
    • A minimum of five years of experience performing quality assurance testing in a software technical environment, including a minimum of two years of experience working in a large enterprise or e-business environment (a Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying



  • While this position is connected to one of our Alliance offices, we are in a fully telecommute work environment right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The interview and on-boarding process for this position will be completed remotely
  • This position may require onsite presence when our offices re-open, which will be no sooner than February 1, 2022. Onsite presence will most likely be on a part-time basis, but is dependent on business needs
