cBEYONData is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Architect to lead a team of up to seven (7) to deliver and optimize cloud solutions for a large Federal customer. Prior SAP BASIS or SAP Infrastructure experience is preferred. This exciting opportunity includes migrating additional customers to an existing cloud environment as well as improving the current environment through automation and orchestration.

The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of cloud experience and expertise, preferably with SAP Hosting on AWS Cloud. The candidate will be expected to lead the team to drive multiple parallel technical initiatives, removing blockers for the team.  The candidate will also communicate the status of initiatives within the organization and with external stake holders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management within the team with a focus on sound communication, decision making, mentorship and oversight of the production of exceptional deliverables
  • Leverage cloud knowledge and skills to design, engineer, implement and sustain cloud-based services for DoD systems
  • Review cloud architecture for large business systems
  • Use knowledge of cloud native solutions, and emerging industry trends to provide recommendations on future architecture strategy and roadmaps
  • Work directly with customers and peer teams to capture requirements and implement new cloud solutions
  • Work with SMEs and Security Team in improving the secure cloud architecture
  • Guide team members in implementing best practice processes for DevSecOps and CI/CD
  • Assist in evaluating utilization of resources within AWS environments to optimize cloud performance and cost
  • Manage and guide team members in defining outcomes, operational approach, procedures, and customer service standards
  • Support adoption of solutions through meetings and presentations with stakeholders

Technical Requirements:

  • Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Candidate must, at a minimum, have one of these certifications: Certified AWS SysAdmin, AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Security
  • 10 or more years of total experience in an IT-discipline, preferably in an IT Infrastructure or Hosting domain
  • 3 or more years of Infrastructure Administration experience and technical knowledge of the AWS platform, including networking, security and storage components, EC2s, Load Balancers, RDS, Autoscaling, and other Cloud Native Services
  • 2 or more years of hands-on experience leading a cloud infrastructure and architecture team
  • Experience with SAP HANA on AWS is a strong plus
  • Experience with tools such as Ansible, Splunk, Elastic, GitLab, is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory and Authentication

Communication and Governance Requirements:

  • Experience with Agile methodology; Agile certifications are preferred
  • Experience with ServiceNow is a strong plus
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a solution delivery mindset
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to communicate effectively within the internal organization, and with external stake-holder communities
  • Experience defining, documenting, and implementing governance approaches

Ability to be onsite once per week preferred (Ft. Belvoir, VA)
