We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior SEO Analyst who has a passion across the SEO spectrum incorporating all things technical, on-page and off-page SEO. Residing within our Growth team you get excited about the various nuances that drive a successful SEO program. You understand the value that well optimized content and HTML source code on a page brings to the success of an on-page SEO pillar (i.e. identifying/enhancing H1’s, meta titles/descriptions, navigation, site usability and more). Your creativity and marketing knowledge drive successful off-page SEO results. Your off-page SEO expertise leads to the utilization of an array of tactics to improve a search engines perception of a sites popularity, trustworthiness and relevance (i.e. leveraging Social to capitalize on SERP real estate, implementing innovative marketing/link building tactics and more). While not a developer you know the influential technical SEO practices that maximize search engine crawling and indexing of a large enterprise site (i.e. addressing duplicate content, updating XML sitemaps, implementing schema to value of enhancing SERP CTR’s and more). The identification and prioritization of key SEO projects that drive business success come naturally to you. You effectively communicate insights and recommendations to all levels of understanding across the organization. While confident and bold in pursuing successful results you are a team player. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Content, Marketing, PR, Analytics and more to develop scalable SEO enhancements in a lean agile environment. You are open to being challenged by these teams while challenging them in a collaborative fashion that cements trust and cohesion. Your role is critical to supporting the expansion of the overall reach of the Cars.com’s brand, the results of which are measured through improvements in traffic, engagement, and revenue. The successful candidate will have a passion for driving growth and making a major impact at a large recognizable brand in a highly competitive industry.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced SEO expertise across the SEO spectrum (on/off page, technical, analytical)
  • Robust grounding in utilizing SEO tools such as Moz, SearchMetrics, Screaming Frog, GSC and more
  • Ability to identify, diagnose and solution SEO opportunities
  • Ability to stay ahead of Search Engine releases/updates via research/understanding the competition
  • Adept in communicating SEO solutions to all levels within an organization
  • Solid organizational and project management skills with ability to prioritize based on business outcome
  • Results driven, enthusiastic with positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • KPI ownership orientated (holds self and others to account)
  • Conducts competitive analysis; researching, summarizing and reporting results
  • Understands the digital marketing ecosystem and synergistic opportunities (i.e. PPC, Social)

  • Analytical curiosity and ability to dive into data to pull insights/trends relevant to the SEO channel/business

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree
  • 4+ years’ SEO experience supporting SEO initiatives for enterprise sites (1 million+ pages)
  • Proven track record of supporting successful SEO results incorporating on/off page, technical SEO
  • Strong knowledge of leveraging SEO tools such as Moz, SearchMetrics, Majestic
  • Data driven. Solid analytical tool experience i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Site Catalyst, Tableau
  • Solid Excel experience with ability to interpret/develop quantitative analysis/reports
  • Experience with SEO tactics involving HTML, JavaScript, server side technology, CMS
  • Link building/content strategy development and execution
  • Solid experience organizing and managing multiple projects at once and across teams
  • Strong communicator and influencer who enjoys working across a diverse team of colleagues
  • SEO and digital marketing passion
