JOB DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE:                                  Analyst / Senior Analyst

DEPARTMENT:                   Special Requests (CMBS Credit Administration)

SHIFT:                                  Split Shift (3:00pm to 12:00am)

LOCATION:                         Bangalore

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The position is for a team member in the existing Special Requests group (India) that works closely with the Special Requests team in Ambler. After the appropriate training period, the person would be expected to independently perform Underwriting (prepare a memo / business case) and Pre & Post-Underwriting activities for various special requests that are received from the borrowers.

In addition to this, the person in this position may also be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Management.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  1. Prepare case write-ups for various special requests like Property Management Change, Leases, Reserve Releases, Partial Releases, Other Special Requests.
  2. Contact the Borrower/Counsel/Lenders/CRM/Counterparts to seek clarification or request documents/information etc.
  1. Interpret and clarify queries and disputes on documentation, legal language interpretation in conjunction with Ambler and India management, if necessary.
  2. Prioritize tasks and deliver within the deadline/SLA requirement.
  1. Coordinate with other servicing departments to seek clarifications/information.
  2. Collect review fee and legal retainer fee from the borrowers.
  1. Responsible for regularly updating himself/herself with any change in procedures and ensuring changes are translated to everyone in the team.
  2. Handle all pre and post closing activities like Assumption Letters, Property Management Change Letter, Lease Requirements Letter, Transmittal Package, Credit Reports, Assumption Updates and  Post Closing Notification, Post Closing Defeasance, Property Management Change Updates.
  1. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Management

 

TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Team Leader / Assistant Manager

TITLE OF NEXT LEVEL OF SUPERVISION: Assistant Manager / Manager

  • Special Requests team in US                                                 Daily
  • Supervisor / Managers / Special Requests group                   Daily  
  • Assistant Vice President / Vice President                               As needed
  • Borrowers (via e-mail or phone calls)                                     Daily
  • Lenders / Attorneys / CRMs / Counterparts                            Daily              
  • Various other Servicing Departments                                     Daily

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Must have around 1 year to 4 years of work experience in the Financial services / ITeS / Mortgage industry, including significant experience in voice calls (inbound & outbound) to U.S. clients.
  • Must have a good understanding of basic accounting and financing concepts.
  • Must be proficient in English, in both verbal and written communications.
  • Must be PC literate in MS windows environment with good Excel and Word skills.
  • Understanding of the nature and terminology used in US commercial real estate finance industry is desirable.
  • Experience in reviewing and comprehending loan and servicing documents is desirable.
  • A detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and drive to resolve problems.
  • A willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Understands the importance of training and supports opportunities for further functional and interpersonal skill development
  • Must be able to think outside the box when researching problems and provide workable solutions.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and understand the importance and urgency of specific requirements.

CONDITIONS OF WORK

  • Working additional hours/days maybe required, as necessary, to meet internal and external deadlines and fulfill the job responsibilities
  • This position is in Split Shift currently but may be requested for Day shift based on the business requirements in future. Should be able to match the requirements of the process in terms of being available and flexible to work in multiple shifts.
  • Though limited, ability and willingness to travel in India and internationally when necessary is required.
