Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Architect to join Atai as one of the first hires in our data science team. You will sit within the emerging and rapidly growing Digital Product and Data function of the company, which spans both the Strategy & Innovation and R&D areas of the company as it supports all atai’s programs. You will be using entire data sets obtained from our ground-breaking clinical trials that will span clinical and digital biomarkers, patient health information and clinician & patient reported outcome measures, as well as data from real world sources. You will be working with data across geographies in an environment that will put data controls and governance at the heart of its activities. You will drive our data strategy to enhance therapy personalization and optimize clinical trial activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the clinical, strategy and wider Digital Product and Data team to understand the key problems the business is trying to solve, the optimal data sets to study in order to solve them and opining on how best to product develop in order to capture these data sets

  • Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information from underlying subsidiary programs, as well as for underlying subsidiary programs. Sources include traditional EDC, instrumented digital products and traditional medical instrumentation (e.g. EEG, FMRI, etc)

  • Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality

  • Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications

  • Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions

  • Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts

  • Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements

  • Optimize new and current database systems

  • Define security and backup procedures

  • Coordinate with the Data Science department to identify future needs and requirements

  • Provide operational support for Management Information Systems (MIS)EXPERIENCE

Experience / Qualifications:

  • 6-8+ years of work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role

  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles

  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements

  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques

  • Expertise in SQL and Oracle

  • Proficiency in MS Excel

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R)

  • Proven analytical skills

  • Problem-solving attitude

  • Degree in Computer Science or relevant field

Ideally:

  • Background in psychology, chemistry or medicine

  • Experience in life science or digital therapeutics
