Archer is an aerospace company based in Palo Alto, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

As a member of our Thermal Engineering team you will report to the Senior Thermal Engineering Manager, and will help develop and certify the ECS components and systems for our first certified aircraft. You will help us overcome the challenge of providing the best cabin environmental comfort while offering urban air transportation at a price accessible to all, setting the bar for the entire nascent advanced air mobility industry.
What You’ll Do
Share responsibility for ECS related systems and/or subsystems from concept to production including trade offs management, supplier interface, components/system specification and certification documentation.

Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication
Passion for learning and problem solving
Degree in engineering or related field
Experience with all phases of aircraft development from concept to entry into service
Experience with vapor cycle systems, heating/cooling systems (unpressurized systems would be a bonus), liquid cooling, avionics cooling and general cabin distribution
Be versed in components and systems Qualification documentation and documentation required for full ECS certification
Be familiar with CAD environment to support drawings release
Experience with general hardware specification (LRUs, flanges, clamps, etc)
Detailed understanding of civil aviation standards, practices, and regulations
Coordinate with manufacturing, supply chain and quality from first builds to certification builds
Experience with batteries cooling
Past experience as designer
