Archer is an aerospace company based in Palo Alto, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What you’ll do: 

  • Develop MCAD strategy in NX for management of large assemblies, product interfaces, and control & release structures
  • Work with the design engineering teams to establish CAD modeling practices at Archer in areas such as object visibility control, reference sets, part & assembly templates, interpart wave-linking, part and material association, drawing templates, PMI, CAD quality control (incl. Check-Mate), and modeled weight management
  • Work with the structures team to establish composite CAD modeling practices in NX & Fibersim for areas such as outer mold line (OML) management, separation of design and manufacturing part definition and workflow, plybook drawing templates, and closed-loop simulation process between Fibersim and Simcenter3D
  • Work with the mechanical engineering and electrical engineering teams to establish MCAD-ECAD modeling practices for logical and physical PCBA design workflows, data exchange, and change management
  • Work with the wiring harness engineering team to establish MCAD-wiring harness CAD modeling practices between NX and Capital Harness for logical and physical wiring harness routing, drawing templates, and release management
  • Work with industrial design team on design prototype to MCAD modeling workflow (clay models, point-cloud, etc.), Class A surfacing, interior cabin design, and advanced renderings
  • Work with aerodynamics team to establish best CAD practices for OML interface with CFD
  • Work with CAD part librarian to establish MCAD modeling practices for standard parts such as COTS hardware, electrical components, and wiring harness connectors
  • Provide support & training to user community for NX, Simcenter3D, and Fibersim solutions

What you need:

  • 10 years of experience with NX in the following areas: Modeling, surfacing, large assemblies, product interface and wave linking, administration and customer defaults management
  • 3 years of experience with journaling and NX open
  • Experience with PLM-NX integrations, ideally Teamcenter
  • Experience with design engineering process, ideally in aerospace
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with the broader engineering, manufacturing, and business teams, vendors, partners, customers and the IT community
