The Order Processing Analyst will own the top of funnel processing for incoming customer contracts for consulting services. This involves reading the contracts, creating sales orders in the accounting system, and ensuring those orders are accurately set up for billing and revenue recognition. In addition, this person will assist the Revenue Manager with the review of consulting revenue calculations and month-end revenue reconciliations, and also get a great introduction to the intricacies of revenue recognition standard ASC 606..
This role will be at Appian HQ, which is located in McLean, VA. Expectation is to be in the office on a hybrid schedule.
To be successful in this role, you need:
The ability to read and interpret incoming customer contracts to ensure that they are entered in the NetSuite accounting system in an accurate and timely manner.
The ability to maintain spreadsheets used for reconciling services revenue each month.
To work well with others, regularly assisting the manager with timesheet follow-up to prepare for billing and revenue recognition deadlines.
Strong communication skills to correspond with customers on issues related to purchase orders and invoices.
- Strong analytical skills in order to review and provide feedback about changes in project revenue, and assist VP's ad department heads with reviewing these changes.

1-2 years of general accounting, finance or contract administration experience
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or a related field
