Appian is seeking a seasoned and experienced VP Americas Sales to serve as a key business and revenue leader. In an environment where Appian is ready to pursue their next phase of growth, the Vice President Americas Sales will enhance and expand the sales functions, evolve and improve field operations, and achieve significant revenue growth.

This individual will be responsible for transformational sales leadership and management of growth in the Americas region, through aggressively growing top-line revenues and driving new business by creating scalable, repeatable, structured relationships and embracing the operational challenges of leading a business through its next stage of growth.  

To be successful in this role, you need:

  • 15+ progressively responsible and successful sales leadership experience with high-growth and well-regarded technology companies.
  • A natural leader with an ability to create loyalty, trust, and a following. Understands what it takes to connect, listen, and engage at all levels of the organization.
  • Operationally strong, with a demonstrated track record of instilling discipline, process and methodology into a company’s sales and field operations organizations.
  • A source of positive, motivating energy that multiplies the impact of the team by drawing out ideas, encouraging bold (and thoughtful) moves, and promotes a sentiment of support. Sponsors creative and effective collaboration.
  • A confident leader with executive presence to become a true business partner across the corporate and field functions –someone who can contribute to broader business conversations beyond their functional expertise.  This individual must be highly respected by both subordinates and superiors.
  • Metrics driven, analytical and process-centric mindset that can build organizational capability to deliver predictable, repeatable, and scalable sales results.
  • Hands-on and entrepreneurial style — one that looks to become personally involved in all elements of managing their functional responsibility, and someone who seeks to develop like-minded senior managers with similar capabilities.
  • You carry traits that will be necessary to work closely with the Sales & Executive teams; collaborative, honest, intense, accountable, passionate.
  • A reputation for unquestionable ethics and integrity; sets the tone from the top and demonstrates the highest level of integrity, authenticity and transparency.
