Programming Strategy Associate - (Location, USA Remote. Eastern Timezone preferred.)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced content programmer to help Wurl support its growing client base and an ever-increasing number of managed FAST streaming channels. Harnessing a deep passion for content and compelling audience experiences, the Programming Strategy Associate will help execute multiple editorial projects and manage operational workflows for major channel brands. With a focus on optimizing viewership and maximizing content value, the Programming Strategy Associate will work across a broad and dynamic portfolio of TV channels, Streamers and international markets.

This role will be a part of our Business Development team and report to the Programming Strategy Manager, working closely with other teams (Sales, Client Success Managers, Support, Engineering) to ensure timely delivery and launch of content, schedules and channels, as well as ongoing management. The position calls for someone who loves proactively tackling new challenges; is adaptable to changing demands; demonstrates initiative and ownership; moves fast and thinks like an entrepreneur. You will play a key role in Wurl’s vision of shifting TV viewership to streaming!

 

What you'll do: 

  • Content curation for global channel brands
  • Linear, VOD, Live and fast-turnaround scheduling for a variety of channels and content companies worldwide
  • Provide support for channels in configuration for launch
  • Utilize data insights to improve channel performance and viewership
  • Assist with new business/sales strategies across the US market
  • Collaborate closely with content companies and studios to coordinate timely deliveries and implement any programming changes as required
  • Manage video asset libraries; episode formatting; rights windows; channel ad loads
  • Work with Wurl Support to resolve any issues with content ingestion/daily lineups
  • Troubleshoot and make development recommendations for Wurl's cloud-based Scheduler
  • Help develop scalable workflows and new features to grow channel management services
  • Embrace new technologies to support working efficiencies and intelligence

 

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate has directly relevant experience in a similar role and a similar type of company. In addition, they should also possess the following skills/traits:

  • 3+ years experience in linear/multi-platform programming/scheduling at a digital or traditional media company
  • A deep understanding of programming strategy, audience behaviors, channel analytics, and how to utilize data insights to improve performance
  • Expert organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, context-switching between workflows with ease
  • A knack for finding solutions by collaborating with both internal and external teams
  • Comfortable with asserting requirements and deadlines internally and with external stakeholders
  • Adept at using knowledge and experience to make smart time-sensitive decisions, using good judgment to analyze big-picture impact
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an effective presenter
  • A committed team player in a generative culture

Wurl provides a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this [North America based] position is $72,000 - $118,000. Base compensation at Wurl is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits.
