As a key member of the Revenue team, the Senior Manager, Digital Advertising Sales will lead WSL’s efforts to achieve significant growth in its direct and programmatic digital advertising businesses. The role offers the opportunity for a motivated digital native to step up and not only lead revenue generation in North America but also to partner with WSL teams in Australia, Brasil and other key markets and help them to expand digital advertising sales locally.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Manage WSL global’s programmatic video and display business, with emphasis on developing a robust video private marketplace ecosystem and accountability to an annual programmatic revenue target
  • In partnership with the Director, develop and execute a North American agency sales strategy, including pitching and maintaining relationships with relevant agency contacts in New York, Los Angeles, and other key domestic markets on an ongoing basis
  • Support WSL’s regional teams in APAC, LATAM and EMEA in generating increased direct and programmatic digital advertising revenue in their regions
  • Develop a regular programmatic reporting and optimization protocol; proactively share relevant reporting with the Director, Media Strategy & Operations as well as regional teams
  • Scope, onboard and implement new digital advertising technologies including a DMP, Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings, and others; proactively scope and recommend any technologies, partners or tools that can help grow the business
  • Liaise with Analytics team to develop compelling metrics that differentiate WSL’s digital offerings; build and distribute sales materials for the digital product
  • Cultivate expertise in programmatic technology and techniques; attend relevant industry events and ensure WSL stays at the cutting edge 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years programmatic video sales experience at a digital pure-play, or digital first  publisher, ideally with buyside contacts at major North American agencies and brands
  • Experience developing and/or leading pitches and working directly with prospective clients; interest in growing as a seller and revenue generator 
  • Experience building media plans and proposals and negotiating rates 
  • Extremely comfortable with, and interested in learning to leverage, new technology 
  • Technology & Software Skills: Google AdManager; Google Analytics; Header Bidding; Salesforce; Broad experience with leading SSPs/DSPs
  • Extremely comfortable with deep data aggregation and analysis in Microsoft Excel, STAQ, other yield management and analytics tools
  • Experience monetizing livestream video inventory helpful but not required
  • Ability to travel for meetings with prospective clients
