The Role

Visby Medical is committed to building a world-class product experience team with human-centered design principles at its core. We are seeking to grow our team with the addition of a visual designer that shares this passion. The visual designer will work with the product and marketing teams to help Visby build an industry-leading brand by delivering highly considered, and beautifully crafted work across all key product touch points — from packaging design and printed materials to website and digital applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop print collateral and packaging 
  • Design and develop website and digital assets 
  • Work with key stakeholders to determine requirements and draft design briefs
  • Schedule design projects and help define scope and budgets
  • Concept visual directions based on requirements and constraints
  • Present design work to key project stakeholders
  • Solicit and incorporate design feedback from project stakeholders
  • Develop and refine design directions from concept through execution
  • Engage and direct 3rd-party vendors (eg. photographers and illustrators)
  • Work with, and contribute to, the existing brand and design guidelines
  • Help set and maintain design quality standards across all design projects
  • Collaborate with product and marketing team, copywriters and developers
  • Ensure all final graphics are on brand, on brief and executed with excellence

Qualifications/Skills

  • A great sense of color, type and strong information design/ layout skills
  • A strong design portfolio and experience delivering top quality work
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present concepts
  • An real attention to detail with a good eye for “fit and finish”
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to solicit and incorporate feedback
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage design projects
  • Ability to muilti-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Mastery with contemporary graphic design software (Adobe, Sketch, etc.)
  • Proficiency of product management and communication software (Google, Slack,etc.)

Beneficial Skills/Experience

  • User research and concept testing experience
  • User Experience Design for web and digital apps
  • Illustration and/or photography skills
  • Motion design and/or animation skills

Requirements

  • Degree in graphic design, industrial design, or interior design, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in design (in-house or agency)
