Viam is building a new platform to make robotics more approachable to engineers of all backgrounds, empowering thousands of startups to achieve their robotic visions. We're taking on the hard software challenges, enabling engineers to build modular, practical robots efficiently and cost effectively. Viam's products are built by engineers, for engineers. We want to build a platform we would want to use ourselves. As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing and implementing the ongoing and new technical projects at Viam.

You'll be:

  • Working with leaders to determine how we will track roadmaps, plan, and document engineering and design work
  • Improving engineering project management processes to enable scaling
  • Managing and communicating project status and deliverables while working cross-functionally with Product Management, Product Design and Engineering
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks with stakeholders, & presenting these risks to leadership
  • Handling bill of materials for our hardware products and ensuring that parts are ordered, shipped, and assembled on time in order to meet customer deadlines

We're looking for someone who:

  • 2+ years of professional technical project management experience
  • Has strong leadership skills
  • Communicates effectively and is an empathetic listener
  • Manages time efficiently and has strong organizational skills

Preferred, but not critical qualifications:

  • Good working knowledge of JIRA
  • Certified SCRUM manager and/or PMP certification
  • Experience Technical Project Managing across hardware and software projects
