Job Purpose: Verisign’s Law Department is seeking an experienced, organized and detail-oriented paralegal professional to help support its global litigation and dispute resolution activities, including supporting compliance with all relevant third-party litigation. This position will provide the right candidate with a unique opportunity to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
Key Accountabilities: • Provides legal and administrative support to the attorneys in the Verisign Law Department with sufficient oversight by attorneys • Maintains records and organizes materials in specified areas, including SharePoint sites and data rooms • Discharges responsibilities every day in a professional, friendly, and collaborative manner • Functions independently with a can-do attitude and a sense of humor • Prioritizes effectively and professionally and shows good judgment and initiative • Ensures that management is apprised of deadlines and developments on a timely basis • Proofs work product for errors, maintaining attention to detail
• At least 6 years of paralegal experience with law firm, government agency or in-house • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and other computer tools • Excellent written and oral communications skills • A thorough understanding of, and experience with, all phases of litigation and dispute resolution in U.S. federal and state courts • The ability to assist attorneys with all phases of litigation and dispute resolution in U.S. federal and state courts • Experience managing compliance and discovery production relative to subpoenas, court orders and similar types of civil and criminal legal processes • The ability to perform legal research • The ability to organize and track files related to case documents and important transactions • The ability to obtain a thorough understanding of the Domain Name System (“DNS”) industry and its unique contractual, regulatory, policy and technical limitations • The ability to deal with ambiguous situations • The ability to collaborate effectively with employees at all levels in the Company • The ability to collaborate effectively with outside counsel and other third parties
Preferred Qualifications/Nice-to-haves: • Experience investigating and responding to complaints • Knowledge of the DNS ecosystem and Internet infrastructure • Previous experience with cybersecurity issues • Previous experience with intellectual property issues • Previous experience with employment issues
