In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner with an HR account team in support of our business.  Among other more typical compensation responsibilities, the role also offers opportunities to support and enhance recognition programs and contribute toward the expansion of our HR analytics and dashboard initiatives.

The Verisign compensation team is responsible for all elements of compensation for its ~900 employees, including strategy and design of new programs and administration of current programs. We are data-driven and committed to continuous improvement. The Senior Compensation Analyst will work with the team to contribute to the organization’s ability to attract, retain and motivate the talent needed for Verisign’s current and future success. This position will report to the Sr Manager – Compensation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Administers base pay strategies, policies and programs.  This includes conducting job evaluations, market pricing and providing recommendations and support to the design process. Also reviews and finalizes job descriptions including the FLSA evaluations.  Responsible for audits and job structure management within HRIS system.
  • Provides integral support for annual salary planning, which includes submission of and management of salary surveys. Provides review, analysis and recommendations for current roles and overall salary structure.  
  • Responsible for consolidation of workforce reporting and analytics along with the design and maintenance of HR Dashboards to highlight trends and enable workforce decisions.  Establishes and maintains knowledge of the business and internal team processes and initiatives to provide context for data gathering, reporting and recommending solutions.
  • Acts as lead and primary point of contact for recognition programs, including system administration.
  • Develops strong partnerships with the HR business partners, recruiting and business leaders in the organization in order to identify and solve compensation related issues and provide consultative expertise. 
  • Conducts research, analyzes data and identifies trends in compensation and continually reviews current practices and policies to ensure that best practices are being utilized.
  • Assists in developing and delivering training and programs and presentations for educating HR business partners and managers about compensation-related topics and initiatives.

An ideal candidate is data-driven and passionate about continuous improvement. They can visually present and communicate data, analyses and findings in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Five to eight years or more years of progressive experience in compensation
  • Three or more years’ experience using ERP software (Oracle, Workday, etc.)
  • Minimum of two years of related workforce analytics and data analysis experience
  • Experienced in clearly presenting and communicating data, analyses, and findings both visually and through written and oral communications
  • Proficient in MS Office with a strong understanding of Excel including formulas, charts, graphs, pivot tables and other advanced capabilities
  • Skilled at accessing and managing data from various salary surveys
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent time management skills to be able to handle multiple projects with overlapping time frames and cope with shifting priorities
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Comfortable with a certain degree of ambiguity

Preferred

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
  • Experience with Payscale/MarketPay preferred
  • Experience in the high technology industry
  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors a plus

This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule.

The pay range for this role is $87,700-$118,700.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
