The Architectural Designer works in collaboration with the Design Build Team for the development of existing condition drawings, sets of contract drawings, permit sets, 3D renderings and construction documents for remodeling and custom home projects. Van Metre Design Build is a division of Van Metre Homes focusing on medium to large scale remodeling projects and custom home building in the Northern Virginia area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guide clients through design process for Design Build Team
  • Draft residential remodeling and homebuilding projects with Chief Architect software
  • Prepare selection/interior design presentations for clients
  • Display knowledge of structural requirements
  • Assist with 3D graphics, conceptual drawings, schematic design, construction drawings
  • Participate in client meetings, selections, on-site measurements, and assist with coordinating the design through to construction

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in the residential remodeling and homebuilding industry
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Design, or related field required.
  • Expert Skills with Revit, Chief Architect 3D software, 20/20 (AutoCAD a plus but not required)
  • Expert Skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Teams, Word, Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
  • Basic knowledge of Building Codes and the home building process
  • Estimating and Budgeting Experience preferred
