Twilio Segment is growing rapidly and seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to be a key leader who is passionate about creating high scale, high quality, modern solutions to complex data processing problems. 

 

As a leader in Segment Processing Engineering, your team(s) will focus on ensuring our customers have good data at scale.  This requires building and operating solutions to validate, filter and transform billions of customer messages across our data pipelines.  

 

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing a team of talented engineers and collaborating with Product Managers to build and operate data processing products.  You’ll also be responsible for software execution, career-development, and technical decisions to ensure long-term success both as a product and team.

Who?

Twilio Segment is looking for a leader who lives the Twilio Magic and has a demonstrated track record of engineering leadership. They also have:

  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of 5+ software engineers
  • Leading a healthy and high-performing engineering team(s), both technically and as a people manager. You understand the importance of laying out intentions for the team instead of prescribing solutions.
  • Effective communicator in both spoken and written forms.
  • Lead team(s) on large-scale projects with technical deep-dives into code, architecture, and operations with a solid grasp of Linux systems fundamentals.
  • Servant leader with a strong sense of ownership over critical problem areas.
  • Experience with distributed systems and/or high scale event processing is strongly preferred.
  • CS, EE or CE degree and/or a demonstrable, solid understanding of CS fundamentals.

  • We dog-food Segment to help ourselves move faster and guide our engineering and product.

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Twilio's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Colorado.

 

Salary: $140,784.00 - 193,578.00

 

Denver/Boulder Metro:

Salary: $160,896.00 - 221,232.00

 

Non Sales: Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
