We are looking for a talented and passionate engineering manager who is excited at the opportunity to lead the SMS Queuing team in Bogota.
- You have a track record of leading engineering/IT or operations teams in software companies.
- You are passionate about operational excellence and know-how to build an engineering organization that delivers it.
- You have exposure to modern web technologies and engineering client or server side systems.
- You are familiar with agile processes, continuous integration and test automation.
- We expect you to understand customer requirements and be able to work and communicate with other Engineering, Sales or Support teams across the organization.
- As a pragmatist, you are able to distill complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans for your team.

As Engineering Manager, you will live the Twilio Magic:
- EMPOWER OTHERS: Lead and grow a team of passionate engineers in our Bogota and US office. Provide support and guidance that enables the team to self-organize and to achieve sustained high velocity and predictability.
- Help employees grow through career development, coaching and mentoring while guiding senior contributors to maximize their potential. You'll help provide a clear path for progression through personal development plans, defining goals, perform evaluations, and collaborate with employees on their objectives.
- BE INCLUSIVE, WEAR THE CUSTOMER’S SHOES: Collaborate on roadmaps with Product Managers, Architects and Tech Leads to ensure the team has clear direction and priorities.
- DON’T SETTLE: Institute development best practices to ensure the team produces high quality, well architected and supportable code. Employ Agile methodologies to continuously deliver value to customers.
- BE AN OWNER: Break down roadblocks as well as manage communications with stakeholders and dependent teams. Create a culture of continuous improvement through retrospection.
- As a member of the Engineering Management team, foster leadership principles and behaviors throughout the organization to groom the next generation of leaders.
- Act as an ambassador for Twilio, recruiting and motivating top talent.
