Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Director of Compliance to be a key leader in the evaluation, communication and execution of our compliance programs for Twilio globally. This role is central to the core Twilio business.  It has the highest levels of support, visibility and impact. In the changing dynamics of the industry, we seek someone who is operationally strong who is also forward looking and will influence the roadmap of the company. This role will be the proactive steward of Twilio's compliance efforts around the company and report to the head of our Trusted Communications team under the CPO.

Who?

Twilio is looking for a compliance leader with a demonstrated track record of leading complex US and international compliance. You should come to Twilio with:

  • Exposure to an international regulatory and compliance communications ecosystem, managing compliance programs/teams and related systems. Understanding or experience in the software industry is essential
  • Ability to manage teams through both influence and hierarchy - including remote and international teams
  • Extensive experience interacting with customers and compliance experts then translating that into action
  • Strong project management skills with an interest in technology enablement
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and solve problems
  • Self-directed and independent professional with strong initiative, organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organization as well as with external stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

What?

As the Director of Compliance, you will:

  • Partner with Legal, Communications, Public Policy, Engineering, and Account Executives to ensure we and our customers fulfill regulatory compliance needs.
  • Act as the central point for compliance alerts, concerns and trends for our industry and internal teams - followed by action plan development and cross functional management of efforts to turn these into opportunities for our customers
  • Collaborate with local and regional stakeholders to ensure a global partnership to drive a compliant & risk-conscious culture.
  • Drive Product and Engineering requirements to support compliance efforts.
  • Define and lead operations to maintain and audit compliance.
  • Define and lead communication protocols to enable our customers to maintain compliance and be well informed of changing regulatory needs while maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Present to the company executive team.
  • Monitor, assess and respond as needed to regulatory requirements and expected regulatory changes.
  • Travel globally as needed.
