TuSimple is seeking an experienced patent agent to join our team in San Diego, California.
Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
Manage patent prosecution performed by outside counsel
Design and perform patent analysis projects such as prior art searches, competitive intelligence analyses, infringement/non-infringement analyses, portfolio analyses, validity/invalidity analyses, etc.
Organize and coordinate invention disclosure tracking, review and evaluation
Work with management to prioritize invention disclosures and refine global patent portfolio strategy
Interface across legal, engineering, finance, and business functions
Assist attorneys on transactions, litigation, post-grant proceedings and other IP counseling matters
Provide additional support as needed
4+ years of patent prosecution experience
A BS in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
A USPTO registration number.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Excellent analytical skills and business judgment
A strong drive and willingness to own projects and see them to completion
2+ years of engineering and/or research experience
An MS or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
