TripArc's UX team is looking for a creative spirit who thrives on refining user experiences by harnessing insights from real users. Ideal candidate has solid background in crafting both interaction and visual designs, extensive experience with Design Systems, and a talent for energizing our team with innovative prototypes and demos before finalizing products. 

As the Senior Visual Designer (UI design / Design system)you’ll take on complex challenges and transform them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs suited as much for the first-time user as the sophisticated expert. You’ll work closely with UX designers, Content Designers as well as Researchers, Engineers, and Product Managers throughout the design process - from creating early UI concepts to prototypes. At each stage, you’ll anticipate users’ needs and goals, advocate for them and, through close collaboration with the implementation team, ensure that the final product is delightful to use.  

Responsibilities:

  • Understand user needs, business goals, technical realities and translate concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity despite system complexity; 
  • Develop Visual Interface Design concepts based on the definition of user needs, task analysis, and the personas; 
  • Produce animation/motion solutions and demos created in  
    Figma, After Effects or similar software; 
  • Continuously work with the Design System patterns and rules, test, update, create and evolve them; 
  • Assist UX designers by leveraging your comprehensive knowledge of color theory and layout, along with your sharp focus on the subtle details of interface design. 
  • Use participatory and iterative design techniques including observational studies, user interviews, usability testing, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights, learn about user behavior and verify UI design concepts; 
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually; 
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented; 
  • Attend and facilitate review meetings and demos; 
  • Provide status reports on projects and proactively raise any issues or concerns as they arise. 

Qualifications:

  • Online portfolio; 
  • 5+ years in Visual design; 
  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, a related field, or equivalent practical experience; 
  • Deep understanding of typography, colour theory, layout and shape psychology; 
  • Strong knowledge of Figma, Illustrator, Aftereffects or equivalents; 
  • Ability to lead projects from conception through to completion; 
  • Ability to work well with others across the business;  
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; 
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS/JS capabilities and limitations; 
  • Curiosity, continuous learning and an open-minded attitude.
