About the HR Business Partner Team

Our HR Business Partners are business leaders first, HR leaders second. We hold ourselves to a high standard of understanding the objectives, culture, and talent capabilities of our clients. We quickly identify trends and solve problems in service of achieving Thumbtack’s goals, driving high-performing individuals and teams. About the Role

As an HRBP, you will be joining a team of respected, strategic HR partners. You will elevate us further with your domain expertise, judgment, execution, strong verbal and written communication skills and EQ. Supporting and partnering with other HRBPs across the org, your work will enable the success of our teams. This role reports to the Director of HR Business Partners.

What you’ll need

  • 5+ years in People related roles with 3+ years experience as an HR Business Partner directly or indirectly
  • Broad understanding of HR practices, including performance, risk management, coaching, engagement and retention, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation, culture and values
  • Experience establishing and maintaining manager relationships, acting as their trusted advisor
  • Assess team and employee needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions based on a strong foundational understanding of business strategy
  • Strong communication skills. You’re able to speak, write, and present information clearly and concisely. You’re comfortable mediating and facilitating discussions at the manager level
  • Support high-performing teams through engagement survey action planning, new leader assimilation, and team effectiveness exercises
  • Highlight legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained
  • Partner closely with the global HRBP team to support strategies, key priorities and processes that impact client groups

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience in remote or virtual-first work
  • Previous experience working in fast-paced, scaling organizations
  • Experience working in tech companies or a marketplace
  • Communications/journalism background

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $ 126,000 - $154,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.

For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $107,100 - $131,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
