The Manager, Employee Relations & People Operations is a highly visible role at Flatiron School and works closely with all levels of the organization on a daily basis. This position supports operational and strategic goals by providing a broad range of human resource services to leaders, managers, and employees.They will consult on people related best practices and collaborate on solutions to provide an excellent employee experience in service of our mission and company values. The Manager - Employee Relations and People Operations performs day-to-day HR activities, including talent management, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, and policy and procedure development.
Responsibilities:
- Builds effective relationships with employees and business leaders to provide seamless transactional and strategic HR support
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee requests and questions
- Coaches people leaders on performance management, employee development, compensation and succession planning
- Partner with business leaders to manage and resolve employee relations matters in accordance with company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Investigate, resolve, and document complex and sensitive employee relations issues in a timely manner
- Monitors regulations governing employment practices, benefits, affirmative action, wage and hours, and employee health and safety
- Reviews current HR policies to identify areas where policy development is needed and collaborate with leaders to develop new policies
- Collaborates with finance partners to provide strategic input on employee health, welfare, and 401k benefits programs
- Serves as the primary point of contact to benefits brokers and vendors
- Manages annual open enrollment period for all benefits
- Manages leave and accommodation requests, coordinating relevant benefits and payments
- Assist in analyzing trends and metrics, performance, job descriptions, span of control, employee engagement, manager feedback, attrition, and provides recommendations for solutions
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of HR generalist experience
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred but not required
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations and performance management.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion, and integrity.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment.
- Self-directed, yet effective collaborating with a team and across functions
- Responsive and customer-focused with a demonstrated use of professional judgment
Salary:
- $100K - $105K annually
