Passionate about making a difference in the world of cancer genomics?

Are you passionate about building great software products?

At Tempus, software products are owned and developed by small, autonomous teams composed of developers, designers, scientists, and product managers. You and your team set the goals, build the software, deploy the code, and contribute to a growing software platform that will make a lasting impact in the field of cancer research and treatment.

Tempus builds software as nimble as our teams. Our modern full-stack tech stack - React and NodeJS on AWS - allows our teams to iterate rapidly and lead our industry in innovation. Our decentralized, microservice architecture and emphasis on automation allow us to deliver  advanced solutions with confidence, and at scale.

As an Application Security Lead, you’ll play a critical role in fulfilling the mission of Tempus by providing secure and private precision medicine methodologies for our clients and their patients

Why we’re looking for you:

  • You've got a few years of experience managing application security teams, and can lead security analysis & remediation activities, evaluate tradeoffs, and champion best practices
  • You’re up to the challenge of building out an Application Security practice from scratch, including developing, communicating, and embedding new processes and/or policies
  • You’re up to speed on modern web tech we use like Javascript/TypeScript, Node.js, React/Angular, Postgres, Python, and hosting all these components in an AWS architecture.
  • You write meaningful, useful documentation and tests, and coordinate cross-team collaboration
  • You enjoy learning from and collaborating with a diverse, talented team and mentoring junior team members

  • Strong understanding of modern development practices and secure coding principles (development experience with Javascript and Python preferred)
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Static and Dynamic Code Analysis tools
  • Knowledge of AWS technologies like S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, RDS, and the security implications of such technologies
