Global Mentor Engagement Lead

As the Global Mentor Engagement Lead, you are responsible for the engagement and continued growth of the Techstars ecosystem. You’ll collaborate with Accelerator Investments and programming and EcoDevelopment leadership to set the strategy as well as execute key activities to deliver fast results. This role focuses on fueling Techstars’ world-class strategic asset, our leading global mentor network.  In this role, you’ll be responsible for integrating program-level networks into a cohesive global entity, enhancing mentor engagement to expand global reach, improving mentor-founder matching efficiency, and strengthening the benefits and value the mentor network delivers to founders and mentors alike.

  • Increase mentor Engagement:  Increase meetings/intros, NPS score, set clear expectations, consistency in program and engagement, 
  • Create consistency for the Techstars mentor relationship experience including CRM data maintenance, mentor onboarding, training and expectation setting, in-program and ongoing communications, and ultimately reducing the average time to match mentors with founders and increasing the value those matches deliver for our stakeholders,
  • Increase global mentor representation to align with investment strategy, ensuring we have the right mix of subject matter experts, industry coverage, and diversity.
  • Drive Program Participation Rate, increasing the number of mentors participating in new and existing programs,  
  • Create, execute and manager campaigns to drive mentor application and engagement,
  • Create consistency for the Techstars mentor experience including CRM data maintenance, mentor onboarding, training and expectation setting, in-program and ongoing communication and ultimately reducing the average time to match mentors with founders and increasing the value those matches deliver for our stakeholders,
  • Cultivate a Prestigious mentor Community.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Accelerator Investments and programming and EcoDevelopment leadership to develop and drive Techstars’ mentor engagement strategy and subsequently manage OKRs to measure success in this role. Ensure mentor program objectives are aligned with larger organizational objectives.
  • Foster the development of a renowned mentor community recognized for its excellence, value, and impact. Engage with key stakeholders to ensure the mentor program is viewed as a strategic asset and a cornerstone of our organizational success.
  • Organize community outreach programs and coordinate special events that promote new mentor activation and current mentor engagement and retention.
  • Lead efforts to significantly increase the quantity and value of mentor meetings, introductions, and overall engagement.
  • Strategically expand the mentor network to align with our investment strategy, ensuring a diverse and comprehensive mix of subject matter experts, industry coverage, and global representation.
  • Enhance the value delivered to mentors and founders by improving the mentor matching process and delivering a consistent experience via systematic onboarding, training, expectation setting, communication, and success measurement.
  • Develop strategies for further optimization of the global mentor network’s knowledge & resources.
  • Develop and manage relationships with the most influential Techstars mentors globally.

 

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in an entrepreneurship-related environment.
  • Proven success in managing multiple projects from inception through execution.
  • Experience maintaining relationships with accelerator program teams to match program founders with appropriate mentors.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across a large network to advance mentor initiatives across various verticals in the start-up ecosystem

Compensation: $120,000 - $135,000 with 10% bonus
