About the Role
This person will be responsible for building interactive Tableau dashboards for FP&A and HR teams using snowflake tables and excel as data sources.
Your Area of Focus
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Analyze business data from various sources (databases, spreadsheets, cloud data, etc.) and identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
Dashboard Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and other critical business data.
- Create visually appealing, easy-to-understand reports for stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Data Preparation:
- Clean, transform, and structure raw data to ensure it is suitable for analysis in Tableau.
- Integrate data from multiple sources and systems (SQL databases, Excel, APIs, etc.) to ensure comprehensive reporting.
Data Modeling and ETL:
- Collaborate with data engineers to create efficient data models and work on ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to prepare data for Tableau.
- Implement advanced data calculations, parameters, and custom queries to support complex reporting needs.
Business Requirements Gathering:
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their data needs.
- Provide recommendations on data visualization best practices based on the needs of the business.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to data discrepancies, performance, or dashboard functionality.
- Provide ongoing support for Tableau users and assist with user training.
Collaboration with Teams:
- Collaborate with other analysts, data scientists, IT teams, and business units to ensure that data-driven solutions are aligned with organizational goals.
Optimization and Performance Monitoring:
- Ensure Tableau reports and dashboards are optimized for performance, particularly for large data sets.
- Monitor dashboard usage and performance metrics to make improvements as necessary.
Documentation:
- Document processes, data sources, and dashboard specifications to ensure consistency and ease of future maintenance.
Your Professional Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, or Tableau Online.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and data querying techniques.
- Experience with data integration tools (ETL processes, data blending, etc.).
- Familiarity with data storage systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, or cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with Excel, Python, or R is a plus.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
Analytical Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable data insights.
- Experience with statistical analysis and business intelligence tools is a plus.
Visualization Skills:
- Understanding of data visualization best practices and the ability to create compelling visualizations that communicate data insights effectively.
- Experience with advanced Tableau functionalities like calculated fields, table calculations, and parameters.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Timeline
This position is a contract position. The contract range is $90 - $100 per hour.
