This is a hands-on role, however, being a part of a small team provides opportunity to take ownership of the customer / business problem across the spectrum, from ideation to implementation in partnership with stakeholder teams.

The Analytics team is a small, central group within the tastytrade and IG organizations. We are responsible for pushing our Product, Process and Customer understanding and insight beyond the here and now to create value for the long-term. In order to achieve this, we are responsible for coming up with hypotheses, uncovering key insights, and developing a point of view on actions across the portfolio of our products and services. 


What you’ll do:

Insight and Analytical Responsibilities

  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our products.
  • Identify the opportunities most important for growth, remove barriers for product adoption, retention, engagement, and partner with our growth-focused business partner teams to execute on these insights.
  • Understand funnels, ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends in the adoption of our products and identify opportunities for step-changes and angle changes in growth.
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products and allow us to monitor the health of our product adoption.
  • Communicate the state of the business, experiment results, opportunities, etc. to business partners.

Engineering Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, while evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs within the systems.
  • Create and contribute to frameworks that improve the efficacy of our data, while also working to triage and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand data needs, representing key data insights in a meaningful way.
  • Design, build, and launch collections of sophisticated data models and visualizations that support multiple use cases across different products or domains.
  • Solve our most challenging data integration problems, utilizing optimal ELT patterns, frameworks, query techniques, sourcing from structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to facilitate easier development of data artifacts.
  • Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact.
  • Mentor team members by giving and receiving actionable feedback.

Who you are:

  • Extreme familiarity with SQL
  • Knowledge and practical application of Python.
  • Understanding and experience in modern data warehouse design and optimization
  • Experience in ELT design, implementation and maintenance
  • Capable of influencing decisions with data via analysis and visualizations
  • Working experience in making analytical, data-driven decisions and communicating the results of analysis
  • Experience in statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing, product experimentation, regressions, clustering)
