The role can be remote from anywhere in Poland. 

Summary of role

As an SRE @ Sumo Logic you will optimize operations, increase efficiency in our use of cloud resources and our developer’s time, improve security posture, and increase feature velocity of our developers. You will work closely with multiple teams and help them optimize the operations of their microservices. Being a part of Sumo Logic’s global SRE team you will own availability and ensure operational excellence of our global-scale observability and security products.  

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Improving the lifecycle of microservices and architectural components from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement.

  • Participating in defining, evolving, and managing SLOs

  • Writing code and automation to reduce operational workload, increase efficiency, improve security posture, eliminate toil, and enable Sumo’s developers to deliver features more rapidly.

  • Scaling systems through automation, and evolving systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.

  • Facilitating blame-free root cause analysis meetings for incidents to learn and drive improvement

  • Participating in and continually improving our global IRC (incident response coordination) for all products.

  • Driving root cause identification and issue resolution with the various teams.

  • Working inside of a fast-paced iterative environment.

As a relevant candidate, you will have: 

  • Cloud native application development experience.

  • Strong debugging and trouble-shooting skills.

  • Deep understanding of AWS Networking, Compute, Storage, and managed services.

  • Competency with modern CI/CD tooling (Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible & Jenkins).

  • Experience with full life cycle support of services.

  • Knowledge of IaC practices using technologies (Terraform or Cloud Formation).

  • Ability to write production ready code (ideally in Java, Scala or Go). 

  • Experience with Linux systems and at home on the command line.

  • Experienced with agile frameworks (Scrum or Kanban).

  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another STEM discipline.

  • 6+ years of industry experience.
