Position Overview:

Solid Power is seeking a Sr. Manager IT Infrastructure and Security responsible for building and managing the network & systems engineering and support team accountable for the global network's security. This position will serve as a senior IT Infrastructure and security leader within Solid Power's information technology organization and report to Sr. Director of Information Technology. Led a team of internal and external resources with the mission to provide a secure, efficient, and highly available IT infrastructure comprised of WAN/LAN, data centers, and business applications while providing necessary security to the overall corporate infrastructure. One of the primary responsibilities for this position is people leadership which creates a work environment that enables employees to be their best and deliver on IT infrastructure and its business and security objectives.

Job Duties:

Infrastructure

  • Architect, design, and operate on-premise network (LAN/WAN) and server infrastructure to support Solid Power's needs in product manufacturing, R&D, and testing and support Solid Power's enterprise business systems operations.
  • Architect and operate IDF and MDF network switching environment, segments and VLANs, and edge NGFW environments, including SD-WAN, MPLS, PTP, and VPN.
  • Architect, design, and operate Azure Microsoft 365 environment, including email services, team collaboration, One Drive for Business, SharePoint, Azure tenant, and its connectivity.
  • Manage deployment of M365 applications.
  • Design and operate Mobile Device Management environment of Solid Power mobile assets running on Apple IOS & Android.
  • Manage the design and operations of Azure Applications using Azure frameworks such as MS Power Automate.
  • Gather requirements from customers on Office 365 and Azure applications and translate requirements into projects with scope and timelines.
  • Provides onsite consultative interaction with business process owners to understand business problems and needs, develop IT Infrastructure solutions, and develop and document IT Infrastructure requirements, conceptual designs, and project execution strategies.
  • Designs wired and wireless local area networks (LANs), IP management, and Network security services.
  • Oversee installation and management of circuit provisioning.
  • Development and maintenance of the physical and logical network design documentation, network diagrams, and security best practices.
  • Monitoring performance and usage parameters of WAN circuits.
  • Act as a contract lead for network operations, management, and monitoring.

Security

  • Architect, design, and operate Directory Services based on Microsoft Active Directory, administer users and user groups and design and deploy necessary GPOs.
  • Design, development, support, and security of network test environments for all network services.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in the areas of Routing, Switching, Remote access, Security Information, Event management, and Next-Generation Firewalls with product-specific knowledge of Cisco and Juniper Switches and Palo Alto Networks Firewalls traffic filtering, internet security, VPN, and private access.
  • Provides Network and Security engineering support for internal systems integration projects such as the cloud-based services, VOIP, virtualized infrastructure, server, and storage environment.
  • Design, development, and network/security implementation expertise with Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Manage outsourced Security Operation Center (SOC) and coordinate Managed Detection and Response (MDR) activities.
  • Respond to and remediate the efforts of malicious activity and intrusions as defined in the Incident Management process.
  • Ability to provide last tier support during regular business and after hours in critical network outage situations to provide quick resolution.
  • Guide and assist junior staff with operational tasks and projects under the team portfolio.
  • Coordinates efforts onsite with and reports results to the Solid Power Information Technology Steering Group (ITSG).
  • Collaborate in incident response and investigations of suspected information security events, misuse, or compliance reviews and provide root cause analysis within documented incident reports with SOC.
  • Assist in responses to internal and external compliance audits, e-Discovery data collection, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Integrating optimal security controls as appropriate and required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • This position is responsible for infrastructure, performance, availability, incident, capacity, configuration, and change management processes and the tools, vendors, and resources to support 24x7 uptime and availability SLAs.
  • The candidate must have in-depth, hands-on technical skills in networking Azure, Office 365, VMware, MCSE/MCSA or Azure equivalent, Networking, and Identity management, appreciating the impact of how these backend technologies serve front-end applications, corporate functions, and business processes to enable our customers.
  • Demonstrates subject matter expertise (7-10 years) in senior systems engineering.
  • Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certifications preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience with LAN and WAN hardware including Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, Load Balancing, cable and rack management.
  • 5+ years routing, troubleshooting engineering, and network architecture experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and maintaining the components of an enterprise network.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, project delivery enterprise, and experience with ITIL, CMMI, or PMP processes and implementation.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices.
  • Ability to manage project teams, take ownership, and execute objectives to meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Deep understanding of network protocols - IPSEC, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, Multi-link Point2Point, DHCP, SNMP, TCP, UDP.
  • SD-WAN and VOIP experience preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000/year
