Solid Power is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety Intern to join our team. This internship provides an opportunity to work with experienced EHS professionals and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced workplace environment.
Job Duties:
Support the EHS team in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Assist team in identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe work conditions, and non-compliance issues. Support team in executing action plans to address identified issues.
Support the coordination and delivery of EHS training programs. Assist in developing training materials and updating presentation content. Assist with scheduling and organizing training sessions as well as tracking employee participation and completion.
Assist in collecting information to help drive incident and near-miss investigations. Participate in root cause discussions and assist in developing corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
Participate in risk assessment activities including process hazard analyses and pre-startup safety reviews. Assist in developing controls and mitigation measures to reduce hazard risks.
Perform record-keeping duties for various EH&S compliance programs and provide assistance in maintaining safety management systems.
Assist in developing safety communications to raise awareness and increase employee engagement in safety initiatives and activities.
Complete tasks to support day-to-day EH&S activities on-site, as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
More than 18 years of age.
Available to work approximately 20-40 hours a week during the summer of 2024.
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field with coursework relevant to EHS principles and regulatory standards.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements:
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to wear a respirator.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally move up to 50 pounds.
Hourly Compensation: $18-$20/hour
