Solid Power is seeking a Controls Engineer II with a focus in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next-generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment. This position requires the ability to independently connect to and extract data from industrial manufacturing equipment. Additionally, the position requires the ability to interface with databases to store the data. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ladder logic programming and getting data from PLCs into SQL databases. Experience with machine networking with Ethernet IP, and developing interfaces between industrial control components is required. This position requires the ability to work both directly with other engineers in a collaborative environment to collectively solve problems, as well as independently, taking an idea of how a machine should work and fully developing the controls to execute.
Manage the acquisition of data from industrial machines controlled by Allen Bradley PLCs.
Modify PLC programs to facilitate data acquisition and integrate with supervisory control system.
Specify controls hardware including PLCs and associated IO, to facilitate data acquisition.
Work independently to drive continuous improvement with general input from your manager.
Identify problems with Industrial Controls data acquisition and work independently, with little or no collaboration, to solve.
Document the SCADA process with network diagrams, process flow diagrams, and electrical drawings.
Develop the skills of junior controls engineers to increase Solid Power’s depth of knowledge.
Work closely, collaboratively, and effectively with other departments and team members.
Minimum of Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of related industry experience.
Expert in Allen Bradley PLC programming with Studio5000 Logix Designer, Studio5000 View Designer, and FT View Studio.
Must have used Ignition from Inductive Automation.
Experience with EPlan a plus.
S. citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $94,000/year
