Position Overview: 

SingleStore is one of the fastest-growing databases in the market, and the Business Development Team is the backbone for our continued growth. The BDR team at SingleStore uses inbound and outbound prospecting tactics to generate opportunities for the organization. This team operates with high business acumen with a focus on execution to generate pipeline!

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead Generation & Qualification: Identify and qualify new sales opportunities through outbound and inbound activities, leveraging technical knowledge to understand and address customer needs and to guide developers and engineers toward adopting SingleStore.
  • Technical Consultation: Act as a technical advisor to potential clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of SingleStore's product offerings and how they can solve specific business challenges.
  • Product Demonstrations: Conduct technical presentations and product demos to showcase the capabilities and benefits of SingleStore’s solutions.
  • Collaborative Sales Support: Work closely with the sales team to develop and implement account penetration strategies, provide technical insights, and ensure a seamless transition from pre-sales to post-sales activities.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to position SingleStore's solutions in the market effectively.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within target accounts to drive interest and engagement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of database technologies, data architecture, cloud computing, and related technical domains.
  • Sales Acumen: experience or a strong interest in sales, with an ability to understand customer pain points and effectively communicate technical solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify problems, assess solutions, and logically approach technical challenges.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to achieve common goals.
  • Adaptability: Quick learner with a strong sense of curiosity and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Around 1-2 years of experience in an engineering, product management, development role.
  • Industry Experience: Bonus - Previous experience in a technical sales role within the software or technology sector.
  • Certifications: Relevant technical certifications (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) are a plus.
  • Technical Writing: Experience in creating technical documentation, whitepapers, or case studies.
  • CRM Proficiency: Bonus - Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage leads and track sales activities.
  • Second language preferred
