We are a team of bold researchers, writers, designers, strategists, analysts and engineers based in downtown Boston. Over the past ten years, we’ve quietly transformed the home security industry, replacing outdated, unfriendly technology with thoughtful design that puts our users first. We’ve taken on the industry dinosaurs, we’re winning, and we want you to join us.
Everything we do here comes down to one thing: understanding behavior. What motivates people to to look for home security? What frustrates them, and what delights them? How does SimpliSafe fit into their lives?
You’ll conduct field studies, interviews, ethnographies and surveys to find insights that our creative team can turn into effective, persuasive messaging. You’ll help our writers and designers understand the audience they’re speaking to. You’ll research how potential customers behave in retail environments to inform display design.
THIS JOB ISN’T FOR YOU IF: you’re more interested in designing our products and services. We are looking for that person too! But if you’re someone who’s interested in using research to help inform messaging and persuasion, this is the job for you.
Who We’re Looking For
You listen and watch closely. You understand that what people say and what they do are not always the same. You are a critical thinker, able to assess the pros and cons of research methodologies and effectively assess the right tool for the job. You are as comfortable conducting ethnographies as you are crafting effective, insight-driven surveys. You understand your own role as a researcher and how it can skew insights. You are excellent at both analyzing and summarizing your findings, and clearly presenting them to other stakeholders.
